Born in Martinborough, New Zealand. Ryan had always been interested in art and photography, painting and taking photos at an early age, influenced by the beautiful pastoral countryside of the the Wairarapa. Later he found himself drawn to music, studying it at university, and he draws inspiration in his work from all forms of music to this day.
He found photography calling him again after university as he travelled the world, working in the wine industry and playing music at night, documenting his journey and the people he met through imagery. Returning to New Zealand he found himself taking photos of the people around him, bringing out their mana, which developed into working with fashion brands. He recently moved to Auckland to enjoy all the culture and artistry in the city.
Ryan loves bringing out the power, beauty, and poise in people, showing what’s inside each individual when they connect with his camera.
Ryan currently resides in Auckland and regularly travels for assignments with brands throughout NZ. He also specialises in high end beauty retouching on a contract basis, please contact him.
